Close-up on the CLÉ (caution locative étudiante) scheme

The CLÉ (Caution Locative Étudiante – student rent deposit) is a State guarantee facilitating access to accommodation on the part of students lacking personal guarantees.
The CLÉ is managed by CROUSs (regional student welfare offices). Following a trial period in 2013, it is now available in all local education authority districts except in Overseas Départements.
